Home Design Principles Old Style Gardens
Present Gardens When we look at the landscape around us the Old Style gardens seem somewhat unachievable and it seems like the efficient cookie cutter gardens of the present are taking over. Some beautiful examples of what not to do in Landscaping would be.......
1)Notice the "cookie cutter" appearance of each landscape. They all look pretty much the same, yet are form very different areas.
2)The elements of design were used sparingly or not at all. Nothing catches the eye and holds it.
3)There is not variation or concept of mixing elements to create a whole. All three have the appearance that the shrubs were tossed into the ground in area due to connivance.
However all is not lost there. There are still Landscaping firms out
there that know what it means to design using the principals and elements of design.1)When looking at these gardens one's eye is immediately caught.
2)Each design is very unique and contains its on characteristics no cookie cutting in any shape or form.
3)Obvious uses of elements snd principles of design.
Excellent use of shape it keeps your eye moving and accents the art work in the center.
Color and the weeping tree in the center jump out at me hear. There is an obvious attempt at keeping the color scheme the same and at leading the eye to the center.
Texture is the most impressive element here. There is a variety of plant life in use in this garden but it all presents an appearance of softness.
